Our Seachtain na Gaeilge 2023 celebrations culminated with the return of our annual Céilí, over 2 days, on 15th and 16th March. The roof of the Halla was truly raised with spraoi is ceol le chéile!
Following the Covid restrictions of the last few years, we were so grateful to throw open the doors and welcome all parents as we joined together in song and dance. Each class performed their own dance, some traditional and some specially choreographed for our school, by our expert tutor, Mr Gerard McQuaid. Each class also treated us to performances of songs as Gaeilge, including some chart hits translated for the occasion! We had dancers, singers, tin whistlers, guitarists involved in both solo and group performances. We also had the presentation of Corn Gearóidín Ní Bhaoill. This perpetual cup is awarded each year to 2 cailíní, one from each 6th class, who have made a remarkable effort throughout the year to use their Gaeilge. Comhghairdeas libh, Lovegod agus Ellie Mae!
Míle buíochas to all who joined us for this wonderful celebration of our culture!
